HTET Exam Pattern 2023

The HTET exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is conducted offline (pen and paper-based). The total duration of the exam is 2.5 hours, and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The exam is divided into two sections: Section A and Section B.

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: Child Development (Primary School Child), Concept of Inclusive Education and Understanding Children with Special Needs, Learning and Pedagogy.
  • Languages (Hindi and English): Comprehension, Grammar, Verbal Ability, Vocabulary, and Pedagogy of Language Development.
  • General Studies: Current Affairs, History, Geography, and Social & Political Life.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Number System, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, and Data Handling.
  • Mathematics: Numbers, Arithmetic, Geometry, Mensuration, and Data Handling.
  • Environmental Studies: Social Studies, Science, and Pedagogy of Environmental Studies.

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Number System, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, and Data Handling.
  • Mathematics and Science: Mathematics (Number System, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, and Data Handling) and Science (Food, Materials, The World of the Living, Moving Things, People and Ideas, Natural Phenomena, and Pedagogy of Science).
  • Social Studies: History, Geography, Social and Political Life, and Pedagogy of Social Studies.

Level-III (Post Graduate Teacher)
  • Child Development and Pedagogy: Child Development (Adolescent), Concept of Inclusive Education and Understanding Children with Special Needs, Learning and Pedagogy.
  • Language: This section tests the candidate’s proficiency in the language they will be teaching. The syllabus includes questions on grammar, comprehension, and language development.
  • General Studies: This section is similar to the one in Level 2 and covers topics such as history, geography, economics, and politics. The syllabus also includes questions on current affairs, general science, and environmental studies.
  • Specific Subjects: This section is similar to the one in Level 2 and tests the candidate’s knowledge of the subject they will be teaching.
