KCET 2023 Exam Overview
KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to various undergraduate programs in colleges and universities in the state of Karnataka. The exam is usually held in the month of April and May every year.
KCET 2023 Exam Language & Notification
The KCET exam is a gateway for admission to engineering, architecture, agriculture, pharmacy, and various other courses offered by colleges and universities in Karnataka. The exam is conducted in two languages, English and Kannada, and consists of four papers, namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
KCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for KCET, a candidate must fulfill the following criteria:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The candidate must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in the qualifying examination.
- The candidate must be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission.
KCET 2023 Application Form
The application process for KCET is completely online. Candidates can apply for the exam by visiting the official website of KEA. The application form must be filled out carefully and all the required details must be entered correctly. Candidates must also upload their photograph and signature in the prescribed format. The application fee for KCET is Rs. 500 for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates.
KCET 2023 Exam Pattern
The KCET exam consists of four papers, namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. Each paper carries 60 marks, and the total duration of the exam is 3 hours. The exam is conducted in offline mode, i.e., pen and paper-based. Each correct answer is awarded one mark, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
